Istanbul Architecture is a comprehensive digital platform dedicated to exploring and documenting the multi-layered architectural heritage of one of the world’s most storied cities. Hello,
I am an Architect, an Architectural Historian, and the curator behind Istanbul Architecture.
My Background I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Dokuz Eylül University and a Master’s degree in the History and Theory of Architecture from Yıldız Technical University. In 2023, I expanded my horizons with language education at the University of Melbourne in Australia.
My journey in documenting urban culture, architecture, and design began in 2018 with my personal blog. Since then, sharing what I research, witness, and learn has become my passion. But Istanbul Architecture was born from a specific desire: to move beyond the superficial “top 10 lists” and offer a deeper understanding of this multi-layered city.
My perspective is not just academic; it is also global and multidisciplinary. Over the years, I have worn many hats: serving as an editor and consultant for various digital publications, and working in product development, design, and corporate communications for leading architecture and construction firms.
Why Istanbul Architecture? Here, I combine my professional background in architecture with my experience in storytelling. My goal is to guide you through Istanbul’s chaotic beauty, decoding its buildings, streets, and hidden histories layer by layer.
