In the 1970s, Beyti Güler—the owner of a well-known meat restaurant in Büyükçekmece—approached Yılmaz Sanlı with a request for a building capable of hosting foreign dignitaries, high-ranking politicians, heads of state, and large groups of tourists. The client’s primary desire was to emphasize the characteristics of traditional Turkish architecture. Despite the limited technological means of that period, exposed concrete (béton brut) and natural wood were utilized throughout the entire structure. These materials were harmoniously blended with traditional architectural elements. The interior features an atmosphere adorned with tiles (çini), ablution fountains (şadırvan), domes, arches, and wooden lattices. Although the project was designed in the 1970s, construction was interrupted for various reasons, and the restaurant finally opened its doors in 1983.
