Situated along Istanbul’s prestigious Bosphorus shoreline, Divan Kuruçeşme represents a sensitive architectural restoration that prioritizes harmony between the historical silhouette and the natural environment. The project is characterized by a cluster of vaults design that seamlessly integrates a 1,000-person multi-purpose hall within the existing fabric of historic walls, cisterns, and terrace gardens. Beyond preserving the site’s botanical and structural heritage, the design incorporates modern functional requirements—such as subterranean parking and optimized traffic flow—while highlighting archaeological discoveries, including the remains of an ancient hammam and outbuilding uncovered during excavation. By employing sustainable, local materials and featuring green terraces that extend the neighborhood’s verdant landscape, the development ensures that original elements are not merely preserved but actively revitalized as central components of its contemporary identity.
