Designed by do[x]architecture and inaugurated on April 8, 2022, in Istanbul’s Çamlıca district, the Museum of Islamic Civilizations showcases over 400 previously unexhibited artifacts from the 7th to 19th centuries across 14 themed galleries. The museum integrates items from six major national collections into a comprehensive cultural narrative, enhanced by immersive installations such as the “Tree of Life” entrance, a visual-auditory dome in the “Places of Worship” section, the “Ab-ı Hayat” water cycle fountain, and “Sound Tubes” exploring musical therapy. By combining advanced preservation technology and interactive digital kiosks with architectural storytelling, the facility provides a multifaceted experience that includes restoration laboratories, educational workshops, and temporary exhibition areas.
