Established in September 1876 by Hacı Sadık Bey, the Vefa Bozacısı building stands as a significant landmark of late Ottoman civil architecture in the historic Vefa district of Istanbul. While the specific architect of the structure remains unrecorded in historical archives, the building exemplifies the functional aesthetic of 19th-century commercial spaces, featuring a classic facade that harmonizes with the surrounding urban fabric. Originally designed to serve as both a production facility and a retail shop, its primary function was to provide a permanent home for the artisanal fermentation and sale of boza, a traditional malt drink. The interior of the structure still preserves its authentic atmosphere with original marble counters and historical artifacts, reflecting the transition from street vending to established commerce during the final decades of the Ottoman Empire.
