The Orientbank Hotel, originally known as the Germanya Han, is a prominent historical landmark situated at the intersection of Sultanhamam and Şeyhülislam Hayri Efendi streets in the Sirkeci district of Istanbul. Designed by the Prussian architect August Jasmund and completed around 1909, the building was initially constructed to serve as the headquarters for the Deutsche Orientbank. Architecturally, it reflects a Neo-Renaissance style characterized by the formal sobriety of German academic design, successfully adapting to its narrow, triangular plot. Its most striking features include a rounded corner tower topped with a distinctive green onion-shaped dome and the original bank inscription still visible above the entrance. Following an extensive restoration, the structure transitioned from its long-standing use as an office and bank building to reopen in 2021 as a luxury boutique hotel, preserving its historical essence within a modern hospitality context.
