The Grand Hotel de Londres, located in the Tepebaşı district of Beyoğlu, was designed by the Italian architect Guglielmo Semprini and completed in 1891. Originally intended as a luxurious residence for L. Adamopoulos and N. Aperghis on the former site of the Glavany mansion, it was converted into a hotel just a year later in 1892 to accommodate travelers arriving via the Orient Express. The building is a prime example of late 19th-century eclectic architecture, featuring a grand facade adorned with neoclassical elements and distinctive caryatids that highlight its European influence. Throughout its history, it has hosted notable guests such as Ernest Hemingway and remains famous for its well-preserved Belle Époque interiors, which continue to capture the nostalgic atmosphere of old Istanbul.
