The 15 July Martyrs’ Memorial complex, situated at the Anatolian exit of the bridge in Istanbul, transformed a former traffic directorate into a symbolic landscape comprising the Martyrs’ Memorial, the July 15 Museum, and a dedicated park. The memorial itself is a pentagonal structure featuring a geodesic dome made of küfeki stone, blending traditional funerary architecture with modern structural elements to symbolize national unity and eternal life. Surrounded by a park containing 250 cypress trees and roses representing the martyrs, the site features a central mukarnas fountain that emphasizes spiritual return. Beneath this level, the July 15 Museum is integrated into the natural topography using raw concrete walls and geometric patterns, hosting exhibitions that detail the coup attempt within the global historical context of colonialism and hegemony.
